Diagnostic Center to Participate in a Panel on "The Utility of Task Forces in 21st Century Policing" at the National Criminal Justice Association National Forum

How do multijurisdictional drug task forces fit into the broader crime-reduction strategies of the communities they serve? Join the Diagnostic Center on Tuesday, August 4 (2:15 pm) at the National Criminal Justice Association’s National Forum on Criminal Justice for a discussion on how multijurisdictional task forces can coordinate their efforts with other players within the justice system and engage in information sharing. The panel, which will be moderated by Applied Research Services Co-Director John Speir and feature commentary from the Diagnostic Center and Arizona Criminal Justice Commission Program Manager Tony Vidale, will present information on the history of multijurisdictional task forces; report on the results of a process and outcome evaluation of drug task forces in Georgia; and discuss the role that task forces can play as part of a broader community safety strategy, as well as the importance of establishing enforcement priorities and geographic targeting as part of that broader community policing strategy.

Those unable to attend the National Forum session but interested in the topic should visit our exhibit table (#15) with the Bureau of Justice Assistance National Training and Technical Assistance Center for more information.
