On Thursday, July 30 join representatives from the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) at 2 p.m. (EST) for “Preparing to Launch: Q & A on Implementing Parental Arrest Policies to Safeguard Children.” This hour-long discussion will examine provider policies and resources that law enforcement can use to develop and implement to minimize trauma to children during parental arrest. The webinar will provide attendees with an opportunity to speak with panelists – Brendan Cox, Chief of Police, Albany Police Department; Dr. Susan Chinitz, Psychologist, Early Childhood Mental Health; and Tanya Krupat, Program Director, NY Initiative for Children of Incarcerated Parents at The Osborne Association – about lessons learned when developing and implementing parental arrest policies.
